Workshop
Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation: how to practice the art of Being
Service Description
Practicing mindfulness can benefit in many ways. Numerous studies show that mindfulness helps to reduce stress, anxiety and rumination, increase positive states of mind and improve quality of life. But what is mindfulness? Mindfulness is about paying attention to whatever is happening in our lives in the present moment. By becoming aware of our thoughts, feelings and body sensations, we give ourselves the possibility of greater freedom from habitual, automatic ways of reacting, so we can instead, respond mindfully. This workshop will offer you an understanding of what mindfulness is, what is not, and how it works. You will learn about the benefits of mindfulness and how to practice it through meditation and informally during the day. We will talk about the fundaments of mindfulness and how we can integrate simple everyday mindfulness practices into our day. During the workshop, there will be time for practicing together, reflecting and sharing with the group (this is completely optional, however sharing our own experience with others can help us to gain insights and develop an attitude of acceptance, openness, non-judgmental and kindness towards ourselves). This workshop is suitable for everyone, beginners and those with previous mindfulness and meditation experience alike. Dress comfortably for the day, bring a journal a pen, and a raisin :) Once you have booked your spot, you'll receive your invitation zoom link. I look forward to meeting you and practice together!
